The First Supper After the Stomach Flu
Clearly, I was not too worried about the first supper after the stomach flu because I did not take it easy on my poor healing tummy. Pressure cooker carnitas, shishito peppers, bacon-wrapped jalepenos stuffed with cheddar and cream cheese, and green beans. (All of which were Keto approved.) And anything bacon-wrapped is amazing, right?
This morning I woke up feeling like a million bucks after the worst stomach flu of my entire life yesterday! Looking on the bright side, I figured we could call it a “cleanse” and a Keto fast in order to jump right into the Keto restart I have been planning for. The flu was definitely not how I would have planned getting back into ketosis, but hey, it worked!! One full day of “cleansing”, fasting, and jumping right into my macros as of this morning. (And 6lbs down from the “cleansing” state my body was in.) –Yes, I know the flu is not a cleanse. But it definitely has the cleansing effect.
Just look at this feast. Maybe I should have taken it slower…or maybe you only live once and this meal right here is heaven. (In truth, I bought all these groceries earlier this week and with the flu hitting our family hard, there was very little eating taking place here.)
FYI: my coffee this morning made my belly rumble a bit, my protein shake was questionable at lunch, but hot damn, this meal was paradise. (Effect to be determined soon enough.)
I am definitely not a recipe writer (unfortunately) and I rarely follow any recipe to exact, but lots of fun references for approved keto meals pinned to my Pinterest Keto Board.
