No Time? Or Not a Priority?
What am I making a priority? Today on Facebook a friend was suggesting I make my own cold brew coffee versus buying it from Starbucks. My immediate gut response was, “I just don’t have the time.” But before I could type it out, I realized, I DO have the time, I just don’t make the time, prioritize my time to make cold brew. Instead, in the evenings, I am making dinner, helping clear dinner, helping with baths, getting the boys into PJs, nursing my 6 month old, and checking in on my online parties and Facebook business group. (Ok, fine…and playing Yahtzee because that shiz is super addicting. Can I say shiz in a blog post? Guess so, it’s my blog, right?)
So many of us have the automatic response of, “I don’t have the time,” or “I am just too busy to do that,” or “my schedule is too full,” but really, it’s simply a priority thing. What are the priorities in your life that take place even if your calendar is overflowing? Making cold brew is not my preferred task when I can go to Starbucks in the morning, buy a Trenta cold brew, split it into half, add water and NutPods, and enjoy two days in a row! #starbuckshack And cold brew with NutPods is totally Whole 30 compliant and makes me happy.
Between three kiddos, 5 and under, baseball season starting (our first baseball season as a family and the next thing I know, I am co-coaching with a mama friend), bunco, two at-home businesses, Whole 30 living and trying to incorporate some sort of exercise plan, my calendar really is FULL! But those are my priorities and I WILL make time for those things. Doing my hair every morning may go by the wayside (have you seen my live videos on my Senegence VIP page? It’s rarely pretty. Check it out if only for the comedic factor), taking a shower is overrated (KIDDING), and cleaning the house and doing laundry is for the birds. So when I tell my husband he doesn’t have any jeans clean because “I didn’t have time,” don’t tell him the truth, I just didn’t prioritize his Levis.
