Avocado AND bacon together forever. K-i-s-s-i-n-g.
Facebook food and prep videos are my weakness.
Avocado and bacon are also a weakness. (Well, can you really call them a weakness or a strength?) EDIT: Avocados and bacon are my strength! I want to make every single meal, snack, appetizer and desert I see. And don’t even get me started on all the fun spirits! (The watermelon drink where they make it IN the watermelon, swoon!) My friends know how often I end up trying out the recipes and with it very well know I am currently in round two of Whole 30, the Whole 30 compliant videos often grace my Facebook profile with tags and posts.
Yesterday though, a recipe was sent straight down from heaven! HEAVEN! Bacon-wrapped avocado slices. Let me repeat myself: BACON-WRAPPED AVOCADO SLICES!
First, the recipe is easy! 2 ingredients. 25 minutes.
For Whole 30 compliant recipe, choose an uncured bacon, no sugar added. Also find a semi-ripe avocado. Nothing too ripe because you want the avo slightly firm. Slice the pitter-fruit and wrap each slice in one strip of bacon.
Place each avocado slice on a baking pan lined with wax paper.
Preheat over to 425 degrees and bake for 25 minutes. I flipped the slices at 15 minutes.
Once they are finished, the bacon will be golden brown and crispy. Take them out of the oven and place each one on a plate with a paper towel to soak up the extra bacon grease. Let cool for 2-3 minutes and ENJOY!
In a matter of 90 seconds, I am pretty sure my mom and I destroyed 8 bacon-wrapped avocados and I am having to seriously hold myself back from making more this very instant. This was the best snack a Whole 30er could imagine! You better believe I am bring this as my appetizer to the next monthly bunco game! Along side bacon-wrapped, almond-stuffed dates and I will be the HERO! The baconator! The Bacon Queen! (A title I will wear proudly.)
